Scoring goals is a collective task
Goalscoring is a common task at Valencia CF. This is reflected in the statistics. In the opening six matchdays of LaLiga 2022-23, our team has scored ten goals and the goals have been scored by nine players. A figure that reflects the depth of the squad and the attacking options available to Gennaro Gattuso.

Just as the whole team is responsible for defending, attacking is also a collective responsibility. An idea that is accentuated by an attacking identity of play that allows the team to spend most of the minutes on the edge of the oppposition18-yard box . Thus, Valencia CF are the fourth highest scoring team in LaLiga (only FC Barcelona, Real Madrid and Athletic Club have better stats) and the one with the most players who have scored in the opening six matchdays.

There are nine players who have scored a goal in the opening six fixtures: Carlos Soler, Toni Lato, Samuel Lino, Samu Castillejo, Nico González, Hugo Duro, Mouctar Diakhaby, Marcos André and André Almeida. Castillejo is the only one who has managed to score twice, in the back to back home wins against Getafe CF and RC Celta.

Our head coach, Gennaro Gattuso, mentioned this statistic, highlighting the team's attacking versatility, and boasted confidence about the collective goalscoring contributions within the squad and that will continue to improve over the next few matchdays.
